This is the story of Merry Canyon Lodge - one family’s dream to build a remote lodge above the Bavarian Theme town of Leavenworth in the alp-like mountains of Washington State. Where they and guests can build memories to last a lifetime.

The dream began when the family attended the annual Christmas Lighting festival. Visitors from around the country and world sing carols in the fluffy falling snow as millions of lights burst into color, generating smiles and gasps of joy.

From Merry Canyon, it is just 11 miles to the village center. Make your way down a winding road, past farms, trees and the famous Northern Pacific Railway.

The family wanted privacy, peace and quiet, while also being close enough to the restaurants and shops. The desire to be a part of the frequent music, dance and art fun within Leavenworth was important to maintain.

The exquisite Merry Canyon Lodge was built with all the comforts of a home, blended seamlessly with the touches of the forest life that city dwellers yearn for. From country furniture to a bubbling hot tub, where guests can get away like never before.

More About Merry Canyon Lodge

The large living room looks out at the countryside through towering windows. Visitors can lounge in comfortable leather furniture while enjoying the countryside view. A large free-standing wood stove is placed in the corner to keep you warm while relaxing. Don't forget to pick up some firewood on the way in!

Just to the side, a large pine dining room table has room for the entire family. It sits adjacent to the large kitchen.

The kitchen has almost every pot and pan, cutlery and little touches too. Gourmet cooks will be right at home. Your entire family will enjoy a meal complimented by the quality table and flatware.

The lodge is filled with log and pine furniture – beds, cabinets, tables, handrails and stairs. All of which was made by hand, by craftsmen. Behind the stove, you'll notice river rock lining the walls.

There are three bedrooms, each with a queen bed, quality linens, plump pillows and privacy. The owners insisted on luxury even here in the mountains.

There is a large flat panel television, along with cable connection and a land-line phone. A land-line phone?!? Indeed, because Merry Canyon is outside most mobile phone services. (Another way guests know you are someplace special.)

The story of the Merry Canyon Lodge is just starting. The family now invites guests to visit and enjoy a stunning mountain lodge where they create memories and stories of their own for family and friends.

Some guests are so enthralled with Merry Canyon Lodge that they fail to ever leave the spacious 20 acres on which Merry Canyon Lodge sits.

But others make quick trips to town for gourmet food, gracious stores and gregarious activities – like river rafting, outdoor theatre and seasonal daily concerts of every repertoire.

Some guests bring snowmobiles and head directly onto the trails that run for hundreds of miles through the Cascade Mountain. Others choose to cross country ski right out the doors of Merry Canyon Lodge or drive West to superb downhill skiing at Stevens Pass.

If you're at all familiar with the Bavarian Village, you'll be sure to get in on the seasonal activities that go on. During the Fall, you can enjoy Oktoberfest, while the winter brings Christmas lighting shows and nonstop caroling.
