Description: The city of Leavenworth, Washington gears up for its annual Christmas Lighting Festival with the addition of thousands of new lights as it prepares for the ceremonial lighting of the lights the first three weekends in December. This year, the city is lit with more than 250,000 lights adorning trees, shrubs, light posts and buildings. And to save on electricity, all park light in the Front Street Park have been converted to LED's. And, too, all lights are white to honor the Bavarian Christmas tradition. Local shops, restaurants and hotels also are preparing for the festive occasion with their own lights as well as other interior and exterior decorations, the stocking of shore shelves and loading their pantries with also kinds of seasonal foods and drinks. |
